Rock Band: A Solo RPG Story Generator

Hey hey, my my
Rock and roll will never die!

Rock Band: A Solo RPG Story Generator recalls the golden era of the garage band—and perhaps the slow climb to fame and success as rock stars. It’s an era when young people picking up a guitar and rehearsing in their parents’ garage was a staple of myth and movies. Will they become international rockstars? Or will their music careers be suddenly ended by drugs, competing egos, manipulative lovers, or financial realities?

This game is intended to be played as a multi-sitting solo story-generating experience using the conventions of tabletop role-playing games. It uses dice rolls using two six-sided dice, event tables, and discrete band levels to create a story centered around imaginary characters that begin as a garage band. It is meant to be played alone– something akin to the “choose your own adventure” books from the 1980’s– but could be adapted for use as part of a traditional group role-playing game. The game is presented in a 64-page 6″ x 9″ color format.
